Moving with your Pet

Has to be undoubtedly the most daunting experience and worrying!

There are so many factors to consider when you are moving!

However, whichever country you are flying from/to, you need to understand the import and export regulations for each country and ensure that all documents are in place. For start, make sure your pet is fully licensed in your Name!

Before considering flying, you need to think of how your pet will handle the travel process, some animals are not good on the road i.e taxis! However, if you choose a local agent who has experience and is empathetic and a good communicator, that's a great start.

If you have a pet that has a medical condition, there are Pet Relocation Companies who are run by Vets, you should look into those options first. I respect that there are many of us out there who would never leave our pets behind no matter what the cost and where there is a will there is a way!

If you are planning to fly urgently and need your pet to travel with you, then once you have assigned a Pet Agent to handle your move, they will inform you what vaccinations will need to be in place before you fly and the timeframe in which they need to be given. There can often be conflicting information online you can also check directly with the respective government departments (such as AFCD Hong Kong,), or with an agent in the destination country. However your pet agent should be up to speed with all the current import & export regulations and be able to explain it in layman's terms, anything that you are not sure about, make sure you ask.
